In the midst of the chaos of the EUReferendum I decided to hop on a plane and head in the direction of Morocco, specifically Marrakech for a few days to relax, explore, eat and basically forget about the turmoil happening back at home.
With the help of Grifco PR who represent some of the most luxurious hotels in the dreamiest of destinations, I managed to book the Royal Palm, Marrakech for 3 nights for the chance to experience the hotel at it’s finest including a trip to the spa and meals at a number of their restaurants (another blog post all about that coming soon!)
After the short 3 hour plane journey, we were met at the airport by a gentleman holding a ‘Royal Palm’ sign and shortly afterwards we were on our way in the hotel Range Rover (fully air conditioned, entirely necessary in the 38 degree heat!) On our drive, we were given information about the location of the hotel in relation to the souks, the famous Moroccan markets that you MUST visit if you are in the area. Also a little about the history of Morocco including how long the Royal Palm hotel has been here in Marrakech; only 2 and a half years if you are wondering. After checking in we were taken to our suite, or our ‘Room of Dreams’ as I think it should be more appropriately named. The lounge area led out to a large balcony which followed down the side of the suite and connected to the bedroom which housed a King size bed. Already I was more than satisfied – however, then I went into what is probably the biggest bathroom I have seen in a hotel (and I’ve been in a lot of hotels!) I had a hammam bath, his and hers sinks, a huge shower and a walk in wardrobe with enough storage space that I could’ve packed for 3 months and still had space for more.
We were taken on a tour of the grounds which includes a 2000 square metre pool. Yes that right, 2000 square metres! It spans the entire back of the hotel and looks like the most inviting pool with dark blue and aqua coloured tiles making it look like it’s the ocean at it’s stillest. We then wandered around the rest of the grounds exploring the luxury of the resort, my Zara playsuit was perfectly suited for the hot weather too (it’s currently sold out but there are similar options below) and I am so in love with my new Jimmy Choo Vivy sunglasses and Radley cross body bag. I will be posting more from my time in Morocco soon and there will be a vlog of my trip on my YouTube channel so look out for that. In the meantime shop the banner below for some holiday outfit ideas and let me know if you have any trips this summer and where you still want to visit.
