I am so fortunate to travel as part of my job and have visited so many amazing places just since the beginning of 2016. Most recently I flew to Portugal to stay at the Conrad Algarve for 3 nights. Having not visited that area of the Europe since I was 6 years old, my memory of it was very faint and the experience I was excited about this time was going to be very different from my childhood holiday back in 1994. On arrival at the Conrad after driving down the most palatial driveway I have ever seen (driveway goals all the way!) we were welcomed by staff who swiftly took our luggage and got us checked in quickly and guided us to our rooms.
Although I spent most of my time during my stay at the Conrad Algarve out of the hotel in the most adventurous of places (see my post on 1/3/5 – coming soon) I still managed to see and take in most of the hotel – the place is huge so I would’ve needed at least 1 week to see everything! The spa was one of the most relaxing and picturesque I have ever seen in all of the hotels I have visited and the 2 outdoor pools were breathtaking for different reasons. The main pool had such a regal look, lined with perfectly preened palm trees and sun loungers either side with the most magnificent view of the Portuguese hills, the other pool on a slightly lower level had a much more tropical feel surrounded by slightly overgrown greenery and with cabana beds lining the poolside with an adjoining bar/restaurant. I have already told my friends that they MUST visit the Conrad Algarve, especially as it is only a 2 hour flight from London it’s the perfect place for a long weekend although there is more than enough to do in and around the Conrad to pack out a 2 week holiday too! For more information on the Conrad Algarve including other features of the hotel and rates continue reading – also look out for another blog post about my time at the Conrad Algarve experiencing the 1/3/5 initiative coming to the blog soon.
