If you read this blog post then you will know that this September over fashion week, KFC teamed up with designer Katie Eary by challenging her to create an entire capsule collection in 1 hour, showing just how much a person can pack into 60 minutes like a lunch hour for example. As well as asking Katie to design a Ricebox sleeve, KFC decided to ask 4 fashion bloggers to take on the task of designing their own unique sleeves to go on sale for one day only – and yep you guessed it…. I was one of the 4 that was asked! This was definitely the most exciting design project I have done to date and to know that my designs are available in KFC restaurants TODAY is so overwhelming!
My brief was to draw inspiration from trends that I had seen on the catwalks for the ss16 shows so I had my eyes out and pretty much caught up with every single show that happened in New York and London up until the day I had to actually create my sleeve. If you follow me on snapchat (username – dpeazer) then you would’ve seen some of the action whilst I was in the design studio. Check out some photo’s of my KFC Ricebox challenge below and if you are can get to the Tottenham Court Road, Victoria or Coventry Street KFC today then go and buy a yummy Ricebox (available in a variety of options) and it will come with packaging featuring MY DESIGN!!!

My inspiration was drawn from what I saw on the catwalk during the J.W Anderson show. The prints within the show were very ‘doodle’ like, using the famous Keith Haring ‘squiggle’. This year I have seen more and more freehand designs on clothing, designers such Dolce & Gabbana and Ashley Williams have used doodles or sketches and love the freedom within these patterns. This is why I chose to add individual designs to my Ricebox sleeve, the heart being my favourite and also linking to the heart tattoo on my wrist. I hope you like my sleeve design and if you buy one, tag me as I will be reposting some of them on my Instagram! Leave a comment on this post to let me know your thoughts on my design and whether you managed to buy one!
