If you know anything about me then you will know that my 2 loves in life (besides dancing) are Fashion and Food! So when KFC told me what they had planned for this Fashion Week I was so excited to see how my two ultimate faves would be combined! KFC first launched their #packmoreintolunch campaign in April this year with a musical project involving 3 of the UK’s most loved rappers, Chip, Kano and Wretch 32 which involved an entire music video being shot, edited and uploaded in 1 hour to show how much can really be packing into 1 hour. They managed to complete this project in 57 minutes and after the success of that KFC have decided to do it all over again during London Fashion Week, this time enlisting the expertise of Katie Eary. Known for her work with Kanye West, Katie commented on the #packmoreintolunch campaign by saying “My designs are about pushing boundaries and that’s what KFC is encouraging with the Pack More Into Lunch challenge, so it was a natural partnership. To cut, sew and even press the garments to be runway-ready in an hour is one of my biggest challenges to-date, but watching it come to life was a magical moment and just proves how much can be achieved once you put your mind to it.” Katie Eary below on the photo on the left holding her own design of Ricebox sleeve which is available in KFC for one day only, today! Check out the video below to view the madness that occurred when Katie took on her challenge to create a capsule collection in 1 hour! (including my thoughts and expectations from the show!)
The #packmoreintolunch campaign is to encourage the public to make the most of an hour (i.e lunch hour) and how possible it is to create something great all within 60 minutes – it’s also to celebrate a new lunch menu that KFC have to offer. The new KFC Riceboxes are made up of their famous recipe chicken on a bed of Tex Mex rice, bean salsa, sour cream and lettuce topped with your choice of Original Recipe, Zinger or Pulled Chicken! Sounds so delicious I am now starving whilst writing this blog post! KFC teamed up with Katie who agreed to create an entire capsule collection in just 1 hour, this task involved 40 seamstresses and a whole load of hands in order for the collection to be completed! It was showcased and documented in the Truman Brewery, East London and I was there to see it all happen on the day. Check out some exclusive ‘Behind The Scenes’ photos below of Katie’s challenge and look out for some more exciting KFC related things coming to Idle Lane next week!
I was lucky enough to bag a front row seat to the show and it was incredible. The pieces were so amazing with so much detail and really a really fun element to them. Below are some photos of some of my favourite pieces from the show.
Congratulations to Katie Eary and her whole team – with thanks to KFC for keeping everyone fed throughout the challenge! To stay up to date with all the last news and offers from KFC make sure you check them out on their social channels:
