During my trip to Australia I wanted to try and explore as much of the country as possible. I had 2 weeks there which only allowed me to cover the East Coast (also giving me an excuse to go back and discover the West coast another time!) but one city I was super excited to visit was Melbourne. Having never visited any of Australia before I was purely going on recommendation and had been told several times that Melbourne is the closest city to Europe out of all of those I was visiting during my trip. I stayed at the Lyall Hotel and Spa on Murphy Street which is about a 5 minute walk away from Chapel Street (a great spot for shopping and socialising!) The hotel did not disappoint me in the slightest. Set off Toorak Road, one of popular ‘trendy’ streets in South Yarra on a lovely quiet street, its simple yet effective look made it so endearing and that was even before entering the lobby and seeing what the hotel had to offer. I was shown my room which was one of the prettiest suites I have stayed in. Entering into the lounge/dining area with windows all around was great as there was so much light in the room and seeing the huge L shaped sofa instantly ticked a box for me! I love having somewhere to relax whilst I’m away that isn’t the hotel bed or the lobby downstairs. My mini apartment with kitchen was perfect for the 2 nights I needed it for and the large bathroom with full sized bath tub was a dream after my journey from Cairns! Check out some photos from my stay at the Lyall and if you ever find yourself in Melbourne I would highly recommend staying here as it has everything you could want from a hotel with such a homely feel to it. I also filmed my time in Australia – you can watch what I got up to in the video at the bottom of this post and see more videos here.

Another great thing about Melbourne has to be the food and shopping – two things that I love! Check out some photos of these places and for anymore info click the titles below.
