London is known for its diverse culture and love of all things ‘artsy’. I am one of those Londoners who appreciates and loves good art work and whenever I get the chance to visit a gallery I always wonder why I don’t go to more exhibitions but with limited free time, it’s one of the things that gets pushed to the back burner on my ‘Things To Do’ list. A friend of mine recently told me about Art Rookie, a website selling artwork by British designers on various accessories and items of clothing from T-shirts, to phone cases, to cushions and cups and saucers. Artists basically upload their work for Art Rookie to get printed on different items and whatever sells they get a portion of the profit. Every single item is created in the UK and artwork is only printed once the item has been ordered so as to make it super personal for the buyer. Creators Elizabeth Bush and Jodie Prince have really caught on to a potentially genius gap in the market spreading the talents of artists to people who may not necessarily have access to their work otherwise. I have a T-shirt and linen bag from Art Rookie*, check out how I have styled them below and if you want to check out their website (which I definitely recommend) click here.
